| NEW AIC MODEL HITTING ITS MARK |
| The NEON Alternative Incarceration Center (AIC) is pleased to announce that the new Best Practice Evidence Based Model implemented in 2006 is hitting its mark and the clients are the true beneficiaries. This new model focuses on the principle that there are 8 criminogenic needs as to why clients commit crimes and by addressing those needs you can reduce recidivism. The idea is to motivate the client to work hard on the protective factors to reduce the risk factors. I would like to introduce you to MaryAnn Gardner an Intervention Specialist at the Norwalk AIC. Ms. Gardner is a companion in using her own personal style and cooking experience to engage the clients. This approach is so appropriate for this new model, in that, the model is geared toward motivation, creativity, and role play. Ms. Gardner has really been an innovator in this new model and as a result the recipient of the prestigious Quality Assurance Coaches Award for being the Rachael Ray of the Norwalk AIC.
